Three Dots

Summary: Synopsis: “Three Dots (Seh Noktah)” tells the sad story of a single woman named Gul Afrooz living in a village in northwestern Afghanistan along the border of Iran, struggling to raise her three helpless children. Although she is engaged to her lover Firooz, she is forced to marry an old warlord, a Khan. Caught up in traditional structures, the Khan sends her to Iran as a drug courier for an opium smuggling ring. The ring is busted and she is arrested. his is the story of a border-resident woman from the Herat province who smuggles narcotics to Iran in order to feed her children and also to avoid the revenge of a local Khan. Gul Afroz faces the Iranian police forces somewhere between Iran-Afghanistan borders.

Three Dots... is Roya Sadat's first feature film. The story of this movie was written between 1998 and 2001.
When Roya Sadat was a school student and like thousands of other girls, she was banned from going to school. The dark years of the first period of Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
Three Dots...  were filmed in difficult conditions. It took a year to convince the families to play the female actress. After filming, it was stopped in Herat for a year due to lack of editing facilities. And finally, in 2003, it was opened in Herat theater hall and was welcomed by the cultural community, the people.
This movie was a good start for more works. And it was screening in many film festivals in the world.
Before making this film, Roya had not seen any film and had not participated in any film education institution. Except for his personal experience in building his school's theaters and his great love for cinema... she had found and read only one movie book in his city.
She was introduced as the first female filmmaker from a city where the Taliban had destroyed the city's only historical cinema in previous years and built a mosque instead. She started his first work in city without cinema and the existence of female actress, 
Roya  made this  film in a city where religious fanatics considered the presence of women in the media and cinema to be haram, and the surrounding area of the city is insecure. This film was filmed in an area far from the city called (Pire Turk) and after ten days of filming due to insecurity and widespread kidnapping and receiving a kidnapping warning  by the strongmen of a region called Zir Kooh Shendant Roya Sadat and the team They left the area in the middle of the night and continued filming to the west of Herat in Ghorian castles.

Three Dots  is the starting point for women's cinematic activities in Afghanistan.
